What is your candle in the darkness? Your glimmer of hope? Your breath of fresh air?

For me it is beauty. Seeking out the beautiful is my anchor. Tethering me to that sacred space beyond myself.

Many times it is as obvious as a gorgeous flower in full bloom, while other times it is more subtle-
like a quiet streak of sunlight peaking through a curtain.

Photographing these moments preserves these flickers of clarity; moments where I can see purity at its core and the goodness of the Creator staring straight back at me.

Making art from that place anchors this Presence here in this physical world.

With time split between the city and the mountains, I am learning the importance of contrast-- while actively choosing to focus on the glimpses of heaven that sustain my soul.
